What is Twitter?

Published by Tei Baishiki under Technology.

After my last blog post, I recieved emails asking me to better explain what Twitter is. I decided that instead of writing a long explanation back to each of them, I’d let the power of video do the work for me. Here is a quick 5 minute video that explains what the latest web sensation is about.

There’s been so much negative news on Twitter lately on TV that it sounds like Twitter is getting a bad rep. Is it safe to use or will I be subjecting myself to undersirable situations?

You bring up a really good point, Judy. There is a risk inherent to any social media or internet presence. Twitter does have a lot of spammers but the good thing is you only have to follow people that you want to and you can un-follow anyone at any time. If you have concerns about spammers, I suggest you very carefully choose the people you are going to follow. Also, don’t feel bad about un-following those accounts you find unsavory. Twitter doesn’t alert users when they are un-followed so they will never know, and you will never have to feel guilty about it.

I watched your video (nice) and had one question: I’m a RW agent and wonder how Twitter would help my business?
